Post Human - What is it and how its changing our world

What is Post-Humanism?
  • (meaning "after humanism" or "beyond humanism") is a term with at least seven definitions according to philosopher Francesca Ferrando.
  • In contemporary scholarship, "posthuman" has emerged as a key term in the effort to redefine the human in light of multiple and profound impacts of twentieth and twenty-first century social, philosophical and technological trends.
  • Redefinition of humanity's place in the world by both the technological and the biological.
  • Posthuman or post-human is a concept originating in the fields of science fiction, futurology, contemporary art, and philosophy that literally means a person or entity that exists in a state beyond being human. i.e. X-men
  • To significantly modify our biological constraints, we will need to use technology.
  • The posthuman is roughly synonymous with the "cyborg"
